A Binge Watching Brunch: Celebrating Mother's Day At Home

Mother’s Day Brunch is a time-honored tradition, with many of us used to gathering together at a favorite restaurant for brunch as family. This year, many of us will be limited to takeout or getting creative at home as we battle the coronavirus. Not to fret, there are so many ways to make Mother’s Day special at home!

Even before this pandemic, I have been a fan of creating a special table for mom and having everyone gather at home. This year, however, I wanted to make sure to incorporate a suggestion for a fun #stayhome friendly activity.

That’s how the idea for a Binge Watching Brunch was born! Whether you are all hunkered under one roof or you need to Zoom or Face Time in a special mom, a simple brunch and binge watching your favorite small screen moms is a fun and easy way to celebrate together.

Send Invites

Even if you can’t be together, a little happy mail never hurt anyone! One of my favorite printable designers, JM Custom Invites designed these light and bright lemon-themed invitations for the occasion. She has a great collection of invites in her Etsy shop, but can also create a custom design for you as well for any event. We’ve worked together on everything from bridal showers to a Christmas movie viewing party over the years.

Keep the Party Supplies Simple

With many stay at home orders in place and retail stores being closed during Mother’s Day this year, I was so happy to turn to my no hassle party partner-in-crime, Sprinkles and Confetti! Pandemic or no pandemic, you can order party boxes that include everything you need to celebrate and it ships right to your door! Check out some of her great patriotic options for you upcoming 4th of July backyard fun. I grabbed so many fun goodies last year for our patriotic picnic.

I ordered the Lemon Brunch Box, which included adorable lemon plates, lemon cocktail napkins, and gold-rimmed cups. All I did was toss the supplies in a basket, along with a brunch menu designed by JM Custom Invites. Cook your brunch favorites or order takeout or delivery from a local favorite.

Shop Your House for Decor

If anything, this time at home has taught me to be more resourceful and use items I already have at home in new ways. This centerpiece was made up of Dollar Tree greens that I’ve used for spring decor and a Lion King first birthday. I just added them to a canvas planter and scrounged up some faux lemons that I had around the house! You could also grab a few lemons on your grocery run.

JM Custom Invites also designed some fun 4x6 printables with quotes from some celebrated TV moms that I popped into my Ikea frames. Set out a list of binge-worthy TV shows with iconic moms and settle in with a mimosa for some much-deserved relaxation!

And, that’s it my friends! Even if we are at home, we can find ways to continue to celebrate and enjoy the little things!

Stay safe and healthy!
