Wine Bottles, Barrels, and a Bridal Shower!
Last weekend I celebrated my first bridal shower! Between picking up my dress, booking our honeymoon flights to Belize and celebrating my upcoming wedding with some of my favorite women, this wedding is starting to seem real!
One of my bridesmaids, Kerry, and her wonderful Mom, Kathy, volunteered to host this shower and they did an amazing job. It was just too good not to share with the readers of Legally Crafty. With my wedding being at a winery and a general love of wine, they decided to go with that as the theme of the shower.
They kicked it off with a beautiful invitation that they customized from Minted.
Fast-forward to the day of the shower and these ladies had every last detail covered.
Guests were greeted by a wine barrel with our C&H initials, our photo and a cute handmade chalkboard welcome sign. Another barrel was just around the corner with additional decor. The barrels were rented from Midway Party Rental. If you are not located in the Twin Cities area, party rental businesses often carry these kind of items.
The food and beverage spread was delicious! Just inside the door, a table was set up with white and red wine, water with lemon, and sparkling lemonade. Guests could write them name on their glasses with these washable wine glass markers. And, what would any wine event be without cheese?
In addition to the wine and cheese, there was a wonderful array of chicken salad, turkey roll-ups, fruit and croissants.
The silverware was wrapped up with a DIY cork napkin ring. Kerry's Dad, Scott, drilled holes in the corks to make way for a piece of twine to be strung through the middle of the cork and tied around the napkin and silverware. This made it easy for people to grab as they got food.
To satisfy that sweet tooth, beautiful red velvet cupcakes with wine bottle toppers were displayed on a cupcake stand. There were also scrumptious wedding dress cookies. The bakery goods were ordered from Dorothy Ann Bakery.
The tables were decorated with centerpieces that you can create with a little wine-drinking dedication! They used recycled wine bottles, twine, and some fresh flowers and baby's breath to create a fresh, summer centerpiece. Photos of my fiance and I were also placed around the room.
After eating, we played some fun games, including one asking attendees to guess who wrote Facebook statuses penned by Chris and I from 2006 and 2007. It was hilarious! Winners of the games went home with a bottle of wine.
When gift opening concluded, I got to take tons of pictures at the DIY photobooth complete with BRIDE letter balloons and a couple of fun props!
I could not have asked for a more wonderful afternoon! I was so grateful for all of the work Kerry and Kathy put into this event. A special "thank you" should also go to Jayna (Kerry's sister) and Scott for all of their help as well!
