Sippin' & Dippin': A Bachelorette Party at the Lake

A good girls weekend is just good for the soul! A few weeks ago, I had the chance to celebrate my friend Katie's bachelorette party in Northern Minnesota and we had such a fun weekend of lake time time, girl talk, and cabin fun!

Lucky for Katie, our friend, and her MOH, Nicky, has a family cabin on a gorgeous lake near Remer, Minnesota. If you aren't from Minnesota, cabins are a way of life here and with more than 10,000 lakes, a lake spot is one of the best places to spend time in the Summer and Fall.

Katie wanted a laid back girls weekend and the lake was the perfect place to do it. Nicky dreamed up a fun retro lake theme and I did my best to help bring the vision to life. I also worked with the amazingly talented Meghan of Elva M. Design Studio to create the most adorable printables for the weekend. She ran with the vintage lake theme and it turned out perfectly!

I hope you enjoy some of the simple and fun decorating ideas for a cabin bachelorette weekend!

Room Assignments

To bring us back to summer camp a bit, Nicky had us sign up for roommates and Meghan created some fun signs to hang on each door. These little sets looked so cute on the doors and welcomed all of the ladies upon arrival. Sadly, I didn't snap a photos of the bride's room signs, but I can assure you they were cute!

Mimosa Bar

This group of gals loves a good mimosa bar. We kicked off Saturday's festivities with breakfast and a mimosa bar! Setup for this one was easy with a retro red and white striped table runner. You may remember it's appearance at my Farmer's Market party earlier this summer. I found this runner on holiday clearance at Target, but a similar runner is available on Amazon. Other than the mimosa bar ingredients, I added a fun little sign that Meghan created that fits perfectly in these $.99 cent Ikea frames. These are easy to spray paint for any color scheme as well.

Nicky picked up some fun blue and red paper straws and added on Meghan's straw flags, which are becoming a staple at my events.

Yard Games

After a lovely day of boating, we got back and had a beer pong and washer tournament. Nicky's husband, Seth, made the washer set. A tutorial for a similar set can be found on Making Mrs. M. I'd never played washers before and it was harder than I thought!

To make the tournament official, we used Meghan's bracket printables. We got into the competitive spirit for sure!

Drinks

It wouldn't be a bachelorette party weekend without more drinks! We setup a fun area with lots of wine with Meghan's custom wine labels. These little men wine markers have also made an appearance at a few bachelorette parties and are always a favorite!

Meghan also created beer and water bottle labels to keep us all hydrated. The nutrition facts on the beer were perfection! Drink stations can easily be turned festive at the lake with some faux floral in plaid camp thermoses. I’ve picked up many of these at thrift stores for just a few dollars each.

Extra decor for a cabin weekend can be simple! I picked up a vintage thermos at a thrift store and added some dollar store floral. The red lantern was actually a holiday find a few years ago, but it's made appearances at my Mad for Plaid girls night and in my 4th of July backyard tablescape. It was perfect for retro cabin theme, too. I love when an item can be used in different ways. I also used some wooden Minnesota cutouts, as well as wood slice platters.

To close out a super fun day, we all gathered around the fireplace for gift opening and a game with the bride. The banner was created with more of Meghan's fun printables and some Spritz banners from Target. The banners come deconstructed, so you can be a few colors and easily mix them together! If you look closely, you can spot a nice vintage photo of the groom prominently displayed, too!
