Craft with Carols: DIY Sheet Music Decor
One of the my favorite things this time of year is cranking the Christmas tunes! The day after Thanksgiving kicks off, it's a solid month long of holiday music around here.
Two years ago I found a book of vintage Christmas carols and some vintage sheet music at my local Goodwill. The first craft I made with them was some DIY sheet music ornaments. I still love putting them up on the tree.
This year, I wanted to try something new! I also wanted to make my mother-in-law a handmade holiday decor item for her birthday. During another trip to a thrift store, I came across some vintage wooden hangers that got the crafty wheels to turn.
What You Need
Wood Hanger
Sheet Music
Select the sheet music you'd like to use. I chose "O Holy Night," as it's such a beautiful song and incorporates the true reason for the season into some decor. I went back and forth as to what I wanted to put in tile letters. I thought about doing just a holiday word like "Joy," but settled on the song title. I have a few more hangers, so I am thinking I'll make a few more and might try something different on those!
I recommend laying your tiles out to ensure you don't have any spacing issues. Once you have the letters arranged, start hot gluing.
Secure the sheet music into the hanger and you've got some easy DIY decor. It's a great addition next to your nativity set. If you can't find hangers at a local thrift store, you can find new ones on Amazon.
