Beat the Summer Office Blues and Brighten Up Your Cube!

It never fails. Every year there comes that first perfect weather Friday. It seems like somehow everyone else in the world has managed to escape work early, except for you. You look longingly out the window and check the clock. Is it really only 2 p.m.?

Working on beautiful days can be a bummer, but I've learned the more fun your make your office space, the more tolerable it is to be inside. I have a variety of office decorations that have moved with me to different jobs, but this year was my first year working in a cube. Talk about drab paired with a nice set of florescent lighting beaming down.

To brighten up the wall space of my cube, I bought some fabric from JoAnn Fabrics. I went with a fun gold pattern to match some other gold frames and desk accessories. Last year, I  picked up some vintage clips that worked perfectly told hold up some fun photos I printed off of my Instagram. You can find new clips on Amazon or at local office supply stores. Check out Walgreens photo for an easy way to pull them off your account. There are also fancier services to print your Instas as well, but with a Walgreens practically in my office building, it just seemed like the easiest option.

I also printed out one of my favorite quotes related to work: "It always seems impossible until it's done." It helps me keep a little perspective during hectic days. It's all going to get done. The frames I picked up for a few dollars each at Ikea.

I hope this provides a little inspiration for decorating your work space and helps you beat some of those summer office blues.
