When Life Gives You Lemons, Make A Lemonade Stand for Grown-Ups
I remember loving selling lemonade and assorted goodies as a kid. I did it with friends. I setup at our annual garage sales and had a real-life cash register. Pretty much anything resembling "playing store" was fun for me!
As I was thinking about fun summer cocktails, I thought, why can't there be an adult version of a lemonade stand? Perhaps subtract out the selling at the end of the driveway piece, but who doesn't love a refreshing lemonade in the summer?
Thus, the Lemonade Stand bar idea was born! Here are some tips and ideas for creating your own Lemonade Stand for Grown-Ups!
What You Need
Free Lemonade Printables (Yellow Bliss Road)
Mason Jars
Faux or Real Lemons
Berry Baskets
Pitcher
Paper Straws
Lemonade of your choosing
Mixers of your choosing
I started by printing these adorable free printables from Yellow Bliss Road! Kristin created an adorable lemonade banner & signage, fun drink tags, and the perfect straw flags!
Using black and white baker's twine from Dollar Tree, I tied on the Fresh Lemonade tags to a set of Mason Jars I had around the house. I also had a package of black and white paper straws, which fit nicely with the table runner. I liked how the black and white made all of the yellow pop! Using some craft glue, I added on Kristin's cute flags onto the straws. How fun is the "Pucker Up" one?
I popped the 8x10 Lemonade pricing sign into a white frame, also from around the house. White frames come in handy so often for party signage and decor!
To incorporate some lemons, I grabbed a set of faux lemons that I've used in past summers in my glass apothecary jars. (You may remember a few posts I've written about those for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Halloween. They are so easy to change out seasonally.) I styled everything using a wood crate from Michaels that I pick up with a 50% off coupon and some clearance berry baskets I grabbed on holiday clearance from Target. Target has regularly had similar items in the dollar spot or you can reuse them from your farmer's market finds!
Now for the adult beverage piece! How fun to add a little Bacardi LIMÓN or a local spirit. We were recently gifted some Vikre Juniper Gin made in Duluth, Minnesota. The prefect summer mixer!
Finally, no lemonade stand is complete without some signage! I used both Kristin's free printable banner as well as my new letter board from Walmart! It's only $10! What a steal! Cheers to some lemonade with a grown-up twist!
