Rosé Before the Big Day: A Bridal Shower

When my good friend Cece announced she was getting married, I was so excited for her and her fiancé, Matt! I also couldn't wait to help with all of the fun festivities that a wedding brings!

Invites

Cece is a big fan of rosé, so when I started to see that fun party trend pop-up, I knew it would be a great theme for a bridal shower. To create, the fun Rosé Before the Big Day invite, I reached out to one of my favorite designers, Jackie at JM Custom Invites. She designed a beautiful invitation with blush pink & gold hues.

Tablescape

Next, I began my hunt for plates, napkins, etc. that would work well with the color scheme. Sprinkles and Confetti had the perfect Blush Bride collection with beautiful gold and blush plates, marble dessert plates, coordinating napkins and placecards, and gold plastic silverware. Disposable products can definitely look elegant! I ordered everything online and it was all packaged up and delivered to my door -- so easy and it took a lot of errands off of my to-do list!

To set the brunch table, I used gray tablecloths that I borrowed from my party planning friend, Mara, who has written guest posts for Legally Crafty. (Check out her backyard movie night and fun lipstick party.) If you aren't lucky enough to borrow from a friend, you can purchase similar tablecloths from Amazon to fit your desired table size.

I made my own runners with 3 yards of cream-colored lace fabric from Walmart. Sadly, I am not skilled in sewing (yet-- life goal), so I just cut the fabric down the middle and draped it down the table. To add some ambiance, I used an assortment of clear glass votives, geometric gold votives, and some mercury glass gold votives. Can you believe the geometric ones were a Dollar Tree find?! You can also purchase similar ones on Amazon. Fill them with a tealight candle and they will burn for about 4 hours.

Centerpieces

To create the floral centerpieces, I started with smallmedium, and large terra cotta vases from Target. These have come and gone from Target now, but any vases will do! I added in a mixture of roses I picked up at Trader Joe's and greens and eucalyptus that I bought at my local farmer's market. Trader Joe's and farmer's markets are great places to pick up flowers at a reasonable cost. I took the leftover floral and added in a two small clear glass bud vases I found at Goodwill this winter that I used on my Valentine's Day mantel. Fresh flowers just can't be beat!

Accessories

One of the real stars of the shower, were a set of vintage peacock chairs that I got at an estate auction! I found three of these beauties for just $25 total! A steal, considering one of these chairs often goes for well over $100.

Lined with eucalyptus and a few roses, they made a gorgeous chair for the bride for brunch and gift opening. One even made a later appearance at the photobooth as you'll see below!

Menu + Drinks

You can keep a bridal shower menu easy by going with brunch. I picked up lots of items from Costco including quiches and all of the fixings for yogurt parfaits. Dessert were mini donuts from a local bakery!

I love making the food table a focal point of any party. For this one, I used a free pallet and dressed it up with some eucalyptus and added these adorable hoops made by Lolo B Shop! Check out all of the cool knitted items and yarn home decor she makes in her Etsy shop. I also added in some fun free printables that were available on Oriental Trading's fun 365.

For beverages, of course we needed to have a rosé bar! All you need is a mix of dry, bubbly, and sweet offerings! I used some of the roses and rose petals to create festive ice as well. One of my favorite bloggers to follow, SugarPartiesLA shared how easy they were to make on her Instagram account and I had to try it! Everyone thought they were so cute! It's pretty much as easy as freezing flowers in distilled water (to keep them clear) in an ice cube tray and that's it!

Games

There are so many fun shower games to choose from out there! I wanted to select games that fit the bride-to-be. If you know Cece, you know she LOVES using emojis, so when I saw an idea for an emjoi shower game, it had to happen!

She and her groom-to-be also have strong connections with their Japanese and Argentinian roots, so a game focused on guessing "I Love You" in different languages was also a fun choice! Both of these were designed by JM Custom Invites to perfectly coordinate with the invites.

For the winners, I made some fun rosé themed prize packs including some cans of rosé from Trader Joes, paper straws, and brut and rosé gummy bears

Photobooth

I love having a photobooth at parties! You can create them with using all kinds of spaces. Last time I had an outdoor shower, I borrowed a stand, but this time I set out to build my own with the help of my handy hubby!

To make your own stand for about $10 in materials, check out my DIY Photobooth tutorial. I also added instructions on how to make the embroidery hoop backdrop, too. It was such a fun way to snap photos with the bride-to-be!

Gifts & Favors

Setting up a separate gift table is easy with some cute signage, some flowers, and a photo of the happy couple.

The shower ended with gifts, so it was also a great place to set out the favors for guests. I've learned it's important to be strategic about where to set them out, so people don't forget to take one home! I grabbed these rose sachets at Dollar Tree (packs of 2 for $1) and added on some lace ribbon (also from Dollar Tree). They were perfectly displayed in this knit nesting basket from Lolo B Shop. They can be made in a variety of colors and sizes! I love when I have the chance to work with a talented maker like Lauren!

Most importantly, the day was filled with lots of family, friends, and good wishes for Matt and Cece!
