Girls Gone Glamping: Grab Your Gals for Outdoor Fun

The official summer months may be behind us, but there is still plenty of beautiful fall weather ahead. It's not too late to gather your gals for some glamping!

A cabin weekend is always fun, but sometimes you don't have to look further than your own backyard for a night of glamping fun.

I teamed with Meghan of Elva M. Design and Twin Cities event planner Lisa Murphy to bring you all kinds of fun ideas for your very own Girls Gone Glamping weekend. We decided on a fun color pallet of black, white, pink, and green. Chic girly fun meets the outdoors!

Table Setting

Whether you are at a cabin, pitch a tent, or setup in your own backyard, the table will likely be the key gathering place! I am lucky to have a big treehouse/playhouse in our backyard that comfortably fits at least six ladies. It's the perfect place for a little backyard glamping.

A good old fashioned canvas drop cloth made it a little cozier. Then, we laid down a pallet to use as a table. Pallets are often being given away for free from local businesses. I recommend checking out Craigslist or asking a local grocery or hardware store if they have any they plan to discard. You might remember a few pallets came in handy for my Farmer's Market Girl's Night.

I picked up a black and white runner from Ikea for only $5.99. Ikea has some awesome new table linens that are definitely worth checking out at amazing price points! We layered it with fresh greenery (ferns and lemon leaf) from a local floral shop. Lisa was the floral whiz here! The whole bunch of greens was only $6 and added a fresh outdoorsy element to the table.

Down the middle, we place some white lanterns with LED candles. The lanterns were a summer clearance steal from Target at only $1 a piece! I am a big fan of snagging clearance items for future projects. We also used tealights to add to the ambiance.

Each place setting started with a hot pink plate. It worked out perfectly that I had some leftovers from a previous event. A similar set of plates can be purchased from Party City. We added some greens to the top to add some color. In between each place setting, we added a black paper plate from Dollar Tree to create individual s'more stations. Click here to check out all of the DIY details on how to create those for your glamping get together

We finished off the table setting with some comfy pillows. Between my collection and Meghan's Hobby Lobby finds, we had some great black and white patterns!

Hydration Station

When out in the "wilderness" it's certainly important to keep hydrated! Meghan styled the most adorable hydration station stocked with water and, more importantly, champagne. She designed printables perfect for the mini bottles and tied on straws with cute flags as well as water bottle labels.

Fire Starter Favors & Arrow Sign

Use 'em now or send 'em home later! I whipped up some fire starter favors that you can either put to immediate use in the firepit or your guests can take them to go!

I picked up the glass test tubes in the dollar section at Michaels. Next, save up some lint from the dryer (lint makes an excellent fire starter) and put it in the bottom. I used an extra wood skewer to help push it to the bottom. Add in some long stick matches and you've got a party favor! I picked up the long stick matches on clearance at Anthropologie, but you can also find them online.

Meghan created little tags that I attached with baker's twine and designed an adorable sign to set up by them.

I whipped up the arrow sign last minute using some scrap wood and some spray paint! The wooden arrows were another clearance purchase from awhile back and were perfect!

Trail Mix Bar

Finally, the food! Lisa put together the most adorable Trail Mix Bar sure to keep the whole glamping group happy. When creating the bar, use a variety of jars, containers, and paper lunch sacks to create this fun eclectic look. All you need is a white tablecloth to add some elegance to a portable 6 foot table like this one  that's easy to bring glamping.

Don't forgot to have little baggies for guests to create their own mix!

Meghan designed some fun tags to label all of the goodies and the large sign. You can get larger signs like these printed same-day at Costco for under $5!

Happy Glamping!!
