Engagement Elation: Celebrating the Future Mr. & Mrs. + Gift Ideas!

Taking a break from our wedding festivities, I wanted to spend this week's Wedding Wednesday focusing on how to celebrate others!

Between the holidays and upcoming Valentine's Day, we are in the throws of "engagement season." It is so exciting when a friend of family member gets engaged! When my husband and I got engaged, we were so appreciative of all the cards, bottles of wine and champagne, and other little thoughtful things that people to did celebrate us.

We recently had some friends get engaged and were so excited to return the favor of celebrating the good news. After they had a chance to let things calm down a bit -- post-engagement -- we invited them over for a fun dinner.

Setting the table for dinner was fun because I got to use a lot of our own wedding gifts. It also made for some fun registry conversation with the newly engaged couple.

I also wrote out some fun place cards for the Future Mr. and Mrs.

To cap off the evening, we gave the couple each a helpful book and some magazines for the planning process and a bottle of bubbly. I've provided links below and a little more information on each gift idea.

The Groom's Instruction Manual

So many of the books for wedding planning are geared toward the bride. This is a fun way to give the groom something to dig into and read as he helps to wedding plan and preps for the big day!

The Knot Book of Wedding Lists

This has every list you can possibly think of making while wedding planning and it's done for you! It helps you as you plan and execute your dream wedding day.

Freixenet Champagne

This black and gold beauty of a bottle has become one of my favorite kinds of bubbly to gift. You might remember the mini bottles making an appearance in my bridesmaid ask boxes. They look so elegant and can be written on with metallic markers! And, most importantly, it actually tastes good!

Bridal Magazines: Bridal Guide & The Knot

These are just two ideas for bridal magazines to pick up at a local store. You'll often find other local gems. For example, I'd recommend Minnesota Bride for my gals here. You can also often find great deals on subcriptions to these on websites like discountmags.com or magazines.com. My mom gifted me Bridal Guide from a Groupon deal she found. The bonus to gifting a subscription is it's the gift that keeps on giving during the wedding planning process.

It was so much fun to celebrate them and share some of our wedding wisdom!
